The Social Promotion Association “Ass.i.wa.ma.”, established by a group of expert managers in the waste management and consulting, has the aim to have institutionalize the profession of “Waste Manager”, a professional that supports companies or Institutions for the correct management of special waste.

The birth of the Association comes from the sharing of experiences and skills to better the waste management of waste, simplyfing companies’ costs and supporting the companies in a healty and correct management of their waste.

The Association aims to create a unique model of waste omologation through innovative digital systems, with the aim to facilitate the comunicative processes that involve the whole sector of waste.

The new- President declares: “ The italian business fabric is full of small and medium companies that today lack the necessary knowledge for the correct management of waste. They don’t have the staff or the adequate structures so that their waste become a resource, at the actual state they represent only a cost  for the company. We need to change our view of waste, not only for a social point of view but also for an economical point, in order to create the basis for a circular economy that projects us in a sustainable  future”.

According to a study conducted from “Frost & Sillivan”, the Digital Transformation impact in the world of waste and recycle will register revenues for more than 3.6 Billion by 2020.

Adopting innovative technologies and digital solutions for business models is creating new opportunities of development in the global sector of intelligent waste management. Intelligent systems, connectivity and cloud computing will have to have the priority over old models. The Minister Costa in the last interviews has shown the intention to definitely abolish the Sistri system, thus streamlining bureaucratic processes, in favor of the promotion of digital processes.

New techniques “smart” will take the place of the current ones in order to help the stakeholders involved, that rotate around the “waste” world.

With the advent of Digital Transformation, in addition to technical and monitoring benefits of waste, it will also be possible to develop new communication models between producers, transporters, laboratories and plants. The companies will have to equip themselves of systems like IoT or Big Data in order to be more effective on the market, thus being able to grab new slices of the market. The Partnerships with Digital companies will always become more fondamental, especially to develop and rinnovate the low-cost Business models and to personalize clients requests, thanks to dynamic digitalization models.

Up to now the waste collection has proved to be completely inefficent compared to its potential.

With the NEW DIGITAL ERA we can aim to an adequate integrated and interactive management for waste disposal. The new challenge to face is the DIGITALIZATION.

Each company should learn to homologate correctly their own waste, firstly to safeguard the environment but also to manage at the best their waste, putting in place behaviours that minimize the negative environmental impact.

CLASSIFYING, CHARACTERIZING and HOMOLOGATING are the three fonamental pillars for the correct recovery and disposal of special waste.

The right use of the CER code helps the companies in the correct disposal of waste and so optimizing costs, protecting the environment! The homologating of a waste requires specific technical and scientific skills.

In this regard, a lot of plants ask the refiner and the producer of waste not only the suitable identification form for the accompaniment of the same to the final destiny, but also a characterization record card in order to economically evaluate the waste. The classifying, characterizing and homologatin process, if followed in a proper way, really permits to reach a circular Economy, where waste becomes a resource.
